These couple of days the children have early dismissal from school and I am sure that they will be watching the clock. I have to rush like crazy and finish whatever I am doing before picking him up from school, that is 2 hours earlier than usual!
Here is a simple clock bento so N won't take his eyes of his food!

Here are the items that I used to make this lunch.

Bento Lunch: Soccer Ball bento

Couple more of days to go before end of school year. We are anticipating a fun summer!
To sort of "Kick-off" the season, today he will have this soccer ball bento.
I have discovered that N will eat more bread from his bento if the bread is flattened. Haven't discovered exactly why as yet.

  • Soccer ball sandwiches(stacked) flattened with rolling pin. Nori for accents.
  • Blueberries, organic baby carrots and broccoli florets.

Bento Lunch: Star Bento For Our Star

It's been a busy and fun Mother's Day weekend directly followed by many activities, parties, etc at school including our son's First Grade end of term ceremony. Since the school year is ending soon, I find my enthusiasm for bento making is fading off.
We were so proud with how well N has done and by the recognition he received. Among the awards was a trophy for his outstanding accomplishment in the accelerated reader program (AR) in which he exceeded his bonus goals "all four quarters"- his ZPD (zone of proximal development) for reading is 3.2 (3rd grade 2 months being in school) - 4.9 (4th grade 9 months being in school), "A" honor roll and for being a "Computer Technology Excellence".
This inspired his bento for today.

  • Top, left to right: Star shaped green pepper, ranch in small container, sourdough pretzel sticks.
  • Bottom, left to right: Star shaped watermelon, star shaped sandwiches flattened with rolling pin and topped with fruit leather alphabets.
Here are the items that I used to make this lunch.

Bento Lunch: Reptile & Fruit Kebab bento

Our son's class will be having a guest to introduce them to the fascinating world of reptiles today, so he will be having this bento lunch.
The turtle was cut with the same cutter home fashioned from a bell shape for my earlier Dr.Seuss Yertle the Turtle lunch. My black food safe marker isn't working and I had to use all green for the drawings.
The fruit kebab is with palm tree stirrer from a pack found at Dollar Tree. Can't beat the price,10 stirrers for $1!
My Amazon $75 gift card GIVEAWAY is still on. Make sure to check it out!

  • Whole wheat sandwich rounds, spiral cut snakes and turtle made of Gouda cheese, both decorated with food safe marker
  • Fruit kebab is cantaloupe and strawberry with palm tree stirrer and organic granola bar.
Here are the items that I used to make this lunch.
