Bento Lunch #392: Dr.Seuss The Sneetches bento

Nikolai has a nearly complete collection of Dr.Seuss books and today's bento is so much fun to make based on The Sneetches. I am going to re-read this book to him tonight. Although Nikolai prefers to read on his own lately, we talked him into allowing us to read to him as quality family time.

Review: Monbento Original Bento Box. Bears In Love Valentine's bento

I was contacted by the people over at Monbento a French company to write a review on their bento box.
They sent me the elegantly designed Monbento Original bento box. It has two containers, each of generous size, two lids, which make a leak-proof seal, one top cover and an elastic band. The outside of the box has a soft touch and is actually a layer of silicone on the outside of the box while the inside of the box feels like regular smooth plastic.

I was pleased to discover that by simply changing the orientation of the band, either one container or both could be used which offeres some flexibility in your bento preparation!

They are each of 500ml capacity (1 liter combined) and made from high quality food-grade materials that are BPA-free, dishwasher and microwave safe. The quality of finish is shown by the air tight seals. They are available in various beautiful colors. I am very impressed!
Nikolai has always liked bears, so I made him this Bears in Love Valentine's bento lunch.

In this bento lunch:
  • Bottom tier contains bear shaped sandwiches with icing eyes and raisin nose. Bears are holding a heart shaped colby cheese with cute cupcake pick and some pretzels on a square silicone cup.
  • Top tier contains blanched broccoli florets and carrot slices cut into mini heart shapes. Heart shaped cantaloupe and honeydew melon kebabs on heart shaped picks and seedless red grapes.
Shown here is the double tier boxes that I am sending to school with him.

Another option is to position the band lengthwise for a single tier.

Here are the supplies or similar that I used to make and pack this lunch.

Disclosure: Monbento generously provided me with the items for review without cost to me. Other than receiving the items, I have not received any compensation to write this review.
