Macaroni Bento and Cinnamon Tortilla Chips with Recipe

We have extra tortillas and I decided to make tortilla chips but instead of plain tortilla I used spinach tortilla which I had on hand. It is so easy to make and they are quite addictive. I'll be getting more tortillas very soon, possibly this evening!:)

Ingredients:
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 4 Spinach tortillas, small size
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
- Brush butter on top of the tortillas.
- Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar.
- Cut into 8ths.
- Put onto a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees till light brown (approximately 8 to 10 minutes).

I saved some for his bento :)

In this bento lunch:
  • Bottom Left: Seedless black grapes.
  • Bottom Right: Annie's Organic white cheddar pasta.

Minecraft Creeper lunch box

One of Nikolai's favorite games is Minecraft and he has asked me many times to make him a bento featuring a "Creeper", which is one of the characters in the game. I am certainly not an expert on computer games, but I do enjoy him showing me his fantastic creations and "virtual inventions" :)

Lego Snack Bento and a Fast and Easy Bento (2)

Happy Monday! I was very tempted to ask Nikolai to have school lunch today but decided last minute to make a fast and easy bento before heading out the door. I managed to quickly snap a picture showing it's not always that I make cute lunches, at times it is simple like this one and at times it's left-overs from dinner.
The most important thing to me is that my son loves home packed lunches even the very simple ones.:)  I am also sharing a snack bento which Nikolai had enjoyed awhile back.

Goodbyn Bynto: Mini Penguins Bento

We had a long weekend and today is back to school which is a time for simple but with a little cuteness bento. During our trip, one of my ears clogged and I had to visit the doctor when it persisted for a few days. It was both kind of scary and quite annoying. Had my ears got a thorough cleaning by the doctor and now I am on antibiotics. I am so thankful that it's not serious and relived that I could hear again immediately after having the ear cleaned.

In this bento lunch:
  • Top section: Apple slices, broccoli florets and baby carrots in silicone cups. A cute penguin pick.
  • Center: Rye bread (stacked) topped with a couple of mini penguins cut out of organic fruit leather. Colby beaks and provolone eyes.
  • Penguin shaped cheddar crackers.
  • This lunch is packed in a Goodbyn bynto box.

I Love You Valentine's Bento

As this will be my last Valentine bento for the year, I thought I'd try a little something I hadn't done yet. This is my first attempt of cutting baby carrots and assembling them into heart shapes. I have seen so many ideas using grape tomatoes, sausages, grapes, etc and thought I'd give it a try with carrots. I found it's not as difficult as I had thought.
Have a fantastic weekend and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine Cat Bento - You're The Purr-fect Valentine

Of all the festive lunches, I think Valentine's day lunches are the easiest to make. This is one that will Purrr-fectly send your love along with your lunch. You need only a set of heart shaped cookie cutters to make many fun creations; in this case it is a loveable cat.

This is a busy week for me, in a few days it will be our anniversary (the day that my hubby proposed to me) followed by Valentine's Day and we are planning on a mini vacation since Monday is a Public holiday and Tuesday there is no school.

Love Letters Valentine's Bento

I save all love letters and cards which my romantic hubby has given me over the years in a keepsake box. I often time used the lovely cards or letters as bookmarks and whenever I open the books, I will always read the card or letter first and it always puts a smile on my face.:)
