Last Day Of School Smiley Bento

Today is the last day of school for the 2013-2014 school year. We are extremely pleased with our son's progress and it has been a year of great memories that we will cherish. However, now that it is behind us, we are so ready for a coupe of months or so of summer holidays!
I made a last day of school bento and packed in his LunchBots Duo.

Have a wonderful, fun, and safe summer everyone!!

 In this bento lunch:
  • I used a circle cookie cutter for the face and added candy eyes and cheese smiley mouth with a graduation cap cupcake ring and some wheat thins.
  • Organic baby carrots with a couple of cherry balloons in a silicone cup.
  • Honeydew melon cut and stamped into smiley faces in a silicone cup.

Goodbyn Bynto: Roll-ups Flower bento

We had a nice three day weekend and there is one more day to go for this school year! I have a backlog of lunch pictures that I've been too busy to blog which should give me the inspiration to continue blogging randomly during summer holidays.

The school lunch menu listed 'Managers Choice' since last week and he refused to eat school lunch since he had no idea what will be on the menu, lol. I have run out of titles for my posts and thought that this lunch had quite a few flowers. This is the first time we tried Sundried tomato wraps and they are tasty.

Dog Roll-Ups Sandwiches bento

We are so proud of Nikolai's achievements!! He received many awards including "A" honor roll certificate for achieving a grade of "A" in every subject area in every quarterly grading period, a trophy for his outstanding accomplishment in the Accelerated Reader program (highest points in his class), recognition for his achievements in the Gifted/Talented program, for perfect attendance and more. It is especially rewarding for us to see him set, pursue, and achieve his lofty goals.

I made bears and bunnies roll-ups sandwiches previously and I love making them as they are so easy to make. Since the end of school year is approaching soon, my bento making mojo is fading and I can't wait for the summer holidays myself. Three more school days to go! :)

**If you like what I am doing here, I would also love for you to follow my Facebook page. I'll be posting more often on fb than my blog during summer with some cute and fun foods which I occasionally find on the web.

Leftover Pizza For Lunch

Happy Monday! We had quite a hectic weekend and I am thankful that we have some leftovers in the fridge. Leftover pizza doesn't need to be boring, so I spruced up the pizza with flower shaped cheese which Nikolai loves. It makes for an easy Monday morning as he is not picky with pizza being served cold or at room temperature.

In this bento lunch:
  • Nitrate free pepperoni pizza slices with provolone and cheddar flowers along with some grape tomatoes.
  • Cucumber slices with a flower pick and a silicone baran.
  • Orange slices.
  • This lunch is packed in an Easylunchboxes container.
Here are the supplies or similar that I used to create and pack this lunch.

I have always been fascinated by the giraffes whenever we visit the zoo. We even have a side glass table featuring three giraffes holding up the glass top. Now, I've finally made a giraffe bento after all these years.

In this bento lunch:

  • Lower left - Baby carrots and cucumber sticks.
  • Upper left - Granola bar and wheat thins crackers.

  • Upper right - Apple slices with a giraffe fork/pick.

Bear Soba Bento

We love soba noodles especially when the weather is hot and humid. This is the first time I am sending soba to school with Nikolai. I tossed the noodles with sesame oil so it will not get stuck together in one huge blob and Nikolai loves the flavor. I also included a small container of tsuyu (soba dipping sauce) for him to pour over the noodles instead of dipping at lunch time.

In this bento lunch:
  • Organic soba noodles with mild cheddar ears and nose, provolone eyes and nori pupils. I used my cutezcute panda stamp for the nose, circle cutter for the ears and eyes.
  • Meatballs in a pea pod silicone cup, seedless red grapes and organic baby carrots. Tsuyu sauce in a MonBento sauce container.
  • This lunch is packed in a cute heart shaped bear bento box.

Mini Corn Dogs Bento

Nikolai wanted corn dogs for lunch today and as we always have veggie corn dogs in our freezer, it is easy for me just to heat them up. I thought about adding a little cuteness with facial expressions, but when I checked our fridge I found out that my hubby had eaten up all the white cheese! Anyway, I went ahead and used yellow cheese instead.

In this bento lunch:
  • MorningStar Farms Mini Veggie Corn Dogs with cute picks, cheddar cheese for facial accents, organic ketchup in the mini dipper and a choc chip granola bar cut in half.
  • Sugar snap peas and apple slices.
  • Packed in an Easylunchboxes container
Here are the supplies that I used to create and pack this lunch.
