Hot Dog Bun Bento

We went out of town and came home quite late last Sunday. We made a stop at our favorite Chinese bakery and purchased a huge collection of buns, cakes, egg tarts, etc to bring home. We saved some for ourselves and shared some with close friends. There are no Asian bakeries where we live and the closest to us is around 2.5 hours drive from our home, one way.

The hot dog bun below was from the Chinese bakery, I was in a hurry on Monday morning and Nikolai requested the bun for his lunch. Easy, just placed it into his lunchbox and I added a couple of candy eyes, raisin nose and fruit leather tongue to make it look like a dog. I was not greatly impressed by the final result and I don't think it looked like what I had imagined. Alongside are some organic grapes on a silicone cup with a cute dog pick. He also had a container of yogurt and snacks which are not pictured. This lunch was packed in his blue water leak-proof Ecolunchbox.
