Bee Mine Valentine's Day Bento Lunch

Valentine's Day is around the corner, and love is in the air!💕 Hubby and I will also be celebrating our 18 amazing, wonderful, fantastic years together. I guess that time flies when you are having fun!

This will be my first and only Valentine's Day themed lunch for this year, you can find my previous ones HERE.

Bee Mine Valentine's Day Bento Lunch

In this bento lunch: I used a large circle cookie cutter to cut the body of the Bee, with the end of the loaf as an extra layer for the sandwich which created the bumble bee stripped effect when sliced and the pieces alternated. I used a heart shaped cutter to shape the tiny wings from Colby-Jack cheese. I used a candy eye while the mouth was made from a slice of raisin and the antennae are picks. Also included are some flatbread crackers, an apple which was decorated using two heart shaped picks and removing the outer layer carefully with a knife, and a Babybel cheese which was cut using the same cutter. This lunch is packed in our Easylunchboxes container.

Do you have any plans for this Valentine's Day?

I Love You Valentine's Day Bento Lunch

Happy Valentine's Day! For this wonderful day, I packed a fun I ❤️️ You bento lunch for Nikolai. These three simple, yet powerful words are used very often by our family. We say it quite frequently, even sometimes when just passing each other in the hallway.

I Love You Valentine's Day Bento Lunch

In this bento lunch: I used my alphabet cookie cutter for the lettering and a small heart cutter for the ❤️️, which I used to top the two stacked sandwich halves. Alongside are cucumber slices which I also cut into heart shapes and put in a red silicone cup. These are in the main section along with an organic granola bar cut into half. He also had Annie's organic cheddar snacks and a silicone cup full of watermelon cut into heart shapes in the other sections. This lunch was packed in our Easylunchboxes.

Do you have any plans for this Valentine's Day? Since it falls on a weekday, we made reservations for dinner and will try not to stay up too late. I wish that it's a holiday!!!

Smiley Face EMOJI Valentine's Day Bento Lunch

I can't believe it's already February! Last month just flew by like a mist, or perhaps a blizzard! Love is in the air as Valentine's Day approaches, and I love heart shaped foods, and nearly all things pink and red. This year I started making Valentine's theme lunch a little later than expected and I hope to pack at least one or two more themed lunches. You can find my previous years Valentine's Day lunches HERE.

My first Valentine's Day bento of this year is a smiley face EMOJI. 😍

Smiley Face EMOJI Valentine's Day fun school lunch.

In this bento lunch: Emoji sandwich with fruit leather heart eyes and nori smiley mouth. Below and alongside are a granola bar and cheese sticks. In the other sections are organic baby carrots with heart shapes cut from cucumber, slices of apple one of which made a nice red heart shape. This lunch is packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

Conversation Hearts Valentine's Day Bento

This will be my last Valentine's Day themed lunch of this year. Time really slipped by so quickly and I did not make as many Valentine's bento lunches as I had planned in my mind. Valentine's Day is a really fun celebration and I especially like all the pinks, the reds, and the treats.

Those little "conversation" heart treats are quite popular with this celebration so for this bento I made some on a super scale. I used a large heart shaped cutter for a pair of sandwiches and made the lettering using my alphabet cutter set on some cheddar cheese. I also used the X and O on the babybel cheese and included a granola bar. Upper left is some organic red apple pieces and to the right are blueberries with a Valentine's Day cupcake ring. This bento was packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

♥♥♥ Happy Valentine's Day! ♥♥♥

Valentine's Day Heart Tortilla Roll-Ups

How was your weekend? We watched Super Bowl 50 on Sunday evening and enjoyed the company and food. I am sure the others enjoyed the game more than I, as I am not really a football fan and don't quite understand the game. Thankfully, Nikolai plays little football so he and my hubby tried to explain the rules and play to me. It was fun listening to them even if I might not remember it next year, LOL!  I am truly more of a soccer fan and I call it football, same as many people in other countries. I've been trying to get Nikolai to play soccer and hopefully that also will interest him someday soon. After my hubby learned that cricket games can sometimes last for days, he thinks that might be the game for him!

We always have extra tortillas on hand and we are often unable to finish them before the expire date. You know how it goes, when there is none in the pantry, everyone seems to want them, and when you have a huge bag, no one seems to want them! Does that sound familiar to you?
I decided to make some roll-ups for Nikolai and thought that this looked like a heart shape, at least enough like one when I included the center.  He doesn't seem to have so much of an appetite lately and I just rolled them with organic cream cheese, simple.

Valentine's Day Heart Tortilla Roll-Ups

In this bento lunch (packed in a Planetbox rover):
  • Main compartment -Tortilla roll-ups and a heart shaped marshmallow.
  • Upper left - Organic baby carrots.

Valentine's Day Love Birds themed lunch

Happy Friday everyone! This lunch was inspired by a piece of artwork of love birds sculpted with roses which we have hanging above the door to our room. The art looks like doves and was given to us as a wedding present more than a decade ago. I decided to use some heart shaped cutters to make the birds.

The sandwiches were cut using a larger one and the Colby-jack cheese for the wings was cut using a smaller size. I have a really tiny one which worked well to make the beaks and feet. For the eyes I used a bit of raisin. Above to the left I included some grapes, starfruit slices, and a "LOVE" pick. To the right I also included some baby organic carrots and a Babybel cheese while far to the right there is a Clif Kid organic bar. I packed this lunch in a Bentology Living lunchbox.

Valentine's Day I Love You Lunches

Valentine's day is coming soon and already love is in the air. I especially like this time of year! I try to fill Nikolai's lunchbox with heart shaped foods or picks to make them festive.

Here are a few "I Love You" themed lunches which are very simple and made with some food that he requested since he wasn't feeling well. I've made around 40 Valentine's Day lunches and you can find them here.

Valentine's Day I Love You Bento Lunch

Bento lunch 1: I used the 'I love you' sandwich stamper which I purchased from our local dollar tree store to stamp the sandwich and I've yet to see a similar cutter anywhere else. His sides were organic baby carrots with a heart shaped cupcake pick and an apple half which was cut using a couple of heart shaped cutters.
This lunch was packed in our Easylunchboxes container.

Valentine's Day I Love You nuggets lunch

Bento lunch 2: This lunch is quite memorable to me. It was made the day that Nikolai started to feel ill but insisted of going to school. He specifically requested chicken nuggets and bread. I sent this lunch warm in his Warmables lunch kit (we love this kit especially when the weather is cooler and warm food is really nice) and it stayed warm till his lunch time. He had whole grain all natural chicken nuggets, pumpernickel bread with a few picks to remind him that I love him. I am sure any person not feeling their best will especially enjoy knowing they're loved.
He also had some fruits and snacks which are not in picture, sent with an ice pack. This lunch was packed in our Lunchbots duo with our Warmables kit.

Valentine's Day Bagel lunch

Bento lunch 3: This was a simple bagel lunch which at the last minute I decided to cut into half and include a babybel cheese with a heart cut-out, a three heart silicone baran, organic baby carrots, pear slices with a heart pick and seedless grapes. This lunch was packed in our Easylunchboxes container.

Love Is In The Air, Sweetheart Valentine's Lunch

Love is in the air and I have been feeling it more and more since last week. Just before Valentine's Day we celebrate fifteen fantastic years together and I am so happy that Valentine's Day will be on a Saturday this year. To make it an even greater weekend, Monday is a public holiday!

I saved some cupcake rings from last year and included one in this lunch which was simple and easy to create. Again, I used heart shaped cookie cutters. I used a large one to shape the makings of a thick sandwich, a smaller one to shape the watermelon pieces and the carrots in cucumbers, and one of my smallest for the cut-out hearts in the Babybel cheese.

I included a Lunchbox Love note in his lunch bag and this lunch was packed in a Planetbox Rover.

Happy Valentine's Day and have a fantastic weekend!

Whooo Loves You Valentine's lunch

This is my first time making an owl themed lunch and I created it with heart shaped cookie cutters (except for the eyes), it was not as difficult as I had thought or imagined it would be.

I used the crust for the ears and wings, mild cheddar cheese for the beak and feet. For the eyes I used provolone cheese and raisins. Then I had him perched on a mozzarella cheese stick.
This lunch was packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

LOVE, Pinwheels and Macaroni & Cheese Valentine's Lunch (2)

I made these two lunches on different days, but both of them share the 'LOVE' theme as Valentine's Day approaches, so I am posting them together.

I included a strawberry pancake muffin in his lunch box. It was from my freezer stash, I heated it in the microwave for a minute. Muffins can also be thawed in the fridge or at room temperature for a few hours. Pancake muffins are one of our family favorites and I have a very easy recipe which I'll share in another post, after Valentine's day.
In addition he had roll-ups, which he seems to really like, to which I added lettering cut from fruit leather, sugar snap peas with a pick, seedless grapes and heart shaped strawberries.
This lunch was packed in a Lunchbots Quad.

Nikolai suggested to me after school that I should cut a small heart shape for the 'O', I thought that he was quite creative.:) The next day, I made Macaroni and Cheese for his school lunch and followed his suggestion. This lunch is linked to EatsAmazing: Fun Food Friday

LOVE Pinwheels Valentine's lunch

Here is the macaroni and cheese lunch with "Love U" organic turkey breast, and I used a small heart shaped cutter for the"O". Annie's organic 5 grain elbows and white cheddar is delicious. His side dishes in a Lunchbots quad were wheat thins, sunflower seeds in small heart shaped container, heart shaped cucumber slices, strawberries cut into heart shapes, and seedless red grapes with a xoxo cupcake pick. His Mac and Cheese was packed in a Lunchbots insulated container.

Linzer Heart Sandwich Valentine's Lunch

I hope y'all had a nice weekend. We had a great one and also celebrated Nikolai's straight A's report card. He has been a straight A's student since he started school and naturally we are so proud of him! My husband and I are quite confident that Nikolai will continue his great work. He is very independent and we don't need to pay much attention to his daily homework, which is a blessing! Occasionally, he will ask questions and we of course will help him find a path that leads to an answer and sign his binder daily. When his homework is done he'll have free time to do whatever he wants before dinner. After dinner will be his reading time, I mean family reading time, and then he'll get ready for bed and 'll get ready to watch my t.v series, I do watch a bit of t.v during weekdays.:)

I personally love Linzer cookies, they are quite beautiful and so delicious. I made this easy sandwich version with bread and organic strawberry jam.

I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to cut the bread to size and then for the top slice only I used other cutters for the letters and smaller heart through which, when assembled, you see the strawberry jam filling. The small heart that was cut out of the bigger one made a cute companion for the main section. Packed in a Planetbox Shuttle.

Layered Hearts Valentine's Lunch

The weather is getting cooler here in FL, and it's time to get out those jackets and sneakers. I am a sandals person, and I'd prefer to wear sandals all year long if possible, but today it will be something different.

For Nikolai's lunch I made this layered hearts sandwiches using a collection of heart shaped cookie cutters and one for the winking face. The intention is to have his lunch winking at him invitingly when he opens it.

I Love You Valentine's Lunch

Valentine's day is approaching soon and this is the time of the year that I love filling Nikolai's lunch box with lots of heart shaped foods. Here is the first Valentine's bento of the year and it was easy and quick to make, but says, "I Love You", in so many ways.
It was a joy to make and was packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

I am sure he will be surprised to see salad in his lunch box. Lately, he has not been too keen on lettuce or any salad dressings, but I know that he'll at least eat the cucumber slices, tomato and carrot slices and, maybe, a bite of the lettuce.

I Love You Valentine's Bento

As this will be my last Valentine bento for the year, I thought I'd try a little something I hadn't done yet. This is my first attempt of cutting baby carrots and assembling them into heart shapes. I have seen so many ideas using grape tomatoes, sausages, grapes, etc and thought I'd give it a try with carrots. I found it's not as difficult as I had thought.
Have a fantastic weekend and have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine Cat Bento - You're The Purr-fect Valentine

Of all the festive lunches, I think Valentine's day lunches are the easiest to make. This is one that will Purrr-fectly send your love along with your lunch. You need only a set of heart shaped cookie cutters to make many fun creations; in this case it is a loveable cat.

This is a busy week for me, in a few days it will be our anniversary (the day that my hubby proposed to me) followed by Valentine's Day and we are planning on a mini vacation since Monday is a Public holiday and Tuesday there is no school.

Love Letters Valentine's Bento

I save all love letters and cards which my romantic hubby has given me over the years in a keepsake box. I often time used the lovely cards or letters as bookmarks and whenever I open the books, I will always read the card or letter first and it always puts a smile on my face.:)

Hugs and Kisses Valentine's Bento, XOXO. Bento #535

I made an inlaid hearts bento last year with the hearts as center and thought I'll use the XO letters this year. HERE is the one I made last year. These are a great way to introduce different breads. Nikolai is not terribly fond of pumpernickel usually, but with the addition of cute shapes he eats it without complaint.
