2 Easter Bunny Lunches, Super Easy

I am SO excited that we will be on Spring Break beginning next week! When I contemplated making Easter themed lunches I wasn't really excited about the task of getting out my Easter collection of cookie cutters, cute picks and more. Luckily, I had a few in my everyday bento accessories cupboard and this is what I came up with. Quick and real easy!

This first one includes a sandwich with impressions of Easter bunnies, some organic baby carrots with leaf picks, seedless grapes with a carrot pick some Annie's organic bunny shaped crackers and Cadbury mini chocolate eggs, and in the center there are fruit snacks. As you can see, on occasion I include chocolate in moderation. The stamp and cute leaf picks are from Bento USA, they carry a huge selection of cute bento items.

In the second bento, pictured below, I included a basic sandwich again but this time I decorated it with a baran sheet. To the left I put apple slices, Annie's organic cheddar bunnies and some fruit snacks. Above the sandwich are a granola bar with a bunny baran and a Babybel cheese. It certainly isn't the most elaborate lunch I've shared, but it was ready in a a few minutes. I always believe that when a child opens their lunch, even the most simple extra touch can make it special. Both of these lunches were packed in our PlanetBox Rover.

Review: Modes4u Bento Box, Squishy and Easter Bunny bento

I am very pleased that Modes4u has provided me with some wonderful items for me to show in today's post. I am also very happy for this opportunity to encourage you to see the many really cute and fun items you can find at Modes4u. They make available a wide assortment of bento boxes, one of which I used to pack this lunch. They also offer a great collection of bento accessories which can quickly add that extra dash of cuteness to your presentation. Their site is a great wonderland and I recommend it as one of those must see websites!

For this bento I made some bunny sandwiches which were shaped with a cutter and stamper set. As they are small, I stacked up two pairs of them and included a granola bar on the left side section. The right side section I filled with organic baby carrots, some red seedless grapes and a section of apple that I cut to the shape of rabbit ears.

Bunny bento lunch, Modes4u bento box and squishy review

This lunch was packed in a biscuit bento box that looks so much like an ice cream sandwich that you almost want to take a bite out of it. It is one of the many great bento boxes you can find in their bento collection.

Picks, like the little pink bunny one that I used for this lunch, baran dividers, cutters, sauce containers and much, much more are awaiting your visit to their accessories pages.
Did that French cruller look so yummy you could almost smell it? No, that delicious looking pastry alongside the bento is not a real French cruller even though it looks so wonderfully tasty and mouth watering.

It is one of the fantastic Kawaii squishies from the huge collection that can be found in their Squishies pages.

Squishy by Modes4u

You can't imagine how much fun I've had looking at all their goodies!

Make yourself a cup (or perhaps even a pot?) of coffee or tea before you start scrolling through their amazing site with huge selection of cute bento accessories, squishies and much more. Happy shopping!

Disclosure: Modes4u generously provided me with the products for review without cost to me. All opinions are my own.

Easter Bunny Bento

I'm quite pleased that I at least managed to make a couple of Easter themed lunches for Nikolai this year. This Easter bunny lunch was fun to make and also gave me a chance to practice my apple carving. Just so that you know, I am not really good at all with carving, I have to try many times, often without success. I can visualize what needs to be done, but it only rarely ends up that way! Is it patience or practice or both?
I am so happy that we will be on Spring Break after Easter and we will be back early next month. Happy Easter and have a wonderful weekend!

Easter Bunny Bento

In this bento lunch: I used a circle cutter for the bunnies face, eyes are Gouda cheese and pupils are nori for which I cut with a paper hole puncher. The whiskers are thin carrot strips with a raisin nose and below are a couple of mini marshmallow teeth. The apple ears were the carving project. (Whew!)

Alongside are organic baby carrots with dip in the small container, organic grapes and strawberries with a pink bunny pick. Far to the right is a string cheese. Packed in Bentology bento box.

Here are the supplies that I used to create and pack this lunch.

Minion Easter Eggs Bento

Happy Spring, my favorite season of all! Of the many cute Easter eggs being sold in stores this year, the Minion ones are my favorite. Of course I did purchased some for Easter and they also inspired this easy lunch. I can't believe that Easter is around the corner, still so much to prepare and we decided to have a simple one this year.

Minion Easter Eggs Bento

In this bento lunch (packed in an Easylunchboxes container):
  • A couple of Minion egg shaped sandwiches. I used potato bread which is slightly yellow in color, you can also use any yellow cheese if you prefer. The goggles are free hand cut nori and Gouda cheese. Some Cadbury eggs were added in the small container for treat.
  • Organic baby carrots and sugar snap peas with a Happy Easter cupcake pick.
  • Some strawberries.

Easter Chick Bento, #698

I've been quite occupied with Nikolai's school activities, exams etc lately, and I am so happy that Spring break starts tomorrow! We will be going on a short vacation and I am thankful that my wonderful husband has everything planned. Usually we all discuss where we would like to go on vacation and then we always ended up going to wherever Nikolai or I suggest. This time, I told my hubby that I'm not going to suggest anywhere and he has to pick a place that he would like to visit.

Cute is cute, am I right? I mean, what really is the difference between a cute chick and a cute duck? Only after I made this, and already took the photo to post, did Nikolai notice that I included a duckling pick! I looked at the chick sandwich, then I looked at the pick; I don't know, close call I thought, wouldn't you agree?

The chick sandwich was shaped with a cutter and then I added Provolone cheese wings, a mild cheddar cheese cover for body, and a fruit leather bow tie. The little beak was sculpted from a piece or organic baby carrot, candy eyes and a small heart pick made it complete. This will be my last Easter themed bento for this year, packed in a leak-proof Bentgo lunchbox. We will be back next month. :)

Easter Bunny and Carrot Bento (2)

I'm already in vacation mode and it's only Tuesday! We will be on Spring break from this coming Friday till after Easter, yay! I'll be making one more Easter themed lunch for this week and you can view my previous Easter lunches here.

The first bento pictured here is a carrots and bunny lunch featuring two carrot shaped sandwiches which are topped with mild cheddar and with the tops made of sugar snap peas beside a Easter bunny container filled with Annie's Organic Cheddar Bunnies. Upper right are some apple bunnies/ bunny ears, and upper left is a piece of orange sweet pepper and some broccoli above sugar snap peas. I thought that the pepper and broccoli looked like a carrot. What do you think? This lunch was packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

Easter Basket Bento

This week Nikolai's school is having performance level evaluation tests, (known  by various acronyms depending on location) so it is a busy week. Nikolai is quite confident he will do well, and I am also.

I have always been fascinated with basket weave from tiny examples to hot-air balloon basket size. I also save those Easter treat boxes as some of them are cute and can be recycled to be used as treat boxes anytime. Here I used one to hold a bunny treat.

Note: If you like what I am doing, I would also love for you to follow my Facebook page since I post more often there with some cute and fun foods which I occasionally find on the web.

How To Cut Apple Bunny & Bunny Roll-Ups Sandwiches

As Nikolai told me that he loved the bear roll-ups I made a couple of weeks ago, I decided to make bunny roll-ups this week. When I was attempting the first photo for this post a gust of wind blew away one of the bunny's eyes and nose even while glued with honey. My hubby thought that was a little funny. Of course I had to reassemble the missing nori parts, not funny to me at that time, but later we had a good laugh.

My first attempt of apple bunnies or apple rabbits. Here is the method:

1. Start with a wedge from the apple cut into six or eight pieces, and cut out the core. Make a cut just below the skin about 1/3 distance (top to bottom) and then cut the skin to make a V- shape.
2. Carefully lift out the center V section so that the part that remains forms the bunny ears.
3. To prevent browning I soaked them in a bowl of lemon water for a few minutes. (Citric acid is the key ingredient which helps prevent oxidation/browning). Sometimes I do soak our apples in orange or pineapple juice.

Here Comes Peter Cottontail Easter Bento

Here comes Peter Cottontail Hopping down the bunny trail, hippity, hoppity, Easter's on it's way!
I used the cookie cutter as a divider, the same one I used to cut the sandwich, as an easy way to keep the broccoli in place and then it made the perfect place for a Gouda cheese version of the "cottontail".

Bunnies Everywhere Easter Bento

Easter Sunday lands on April 20th this year and I'll be making some Easter themed bentos for school whenever I get the inspiration. I believe I have mentioned how much I love my easy to use and cute cutter and stamp sets. Here I used the bunny set to make a collection of easy to eat mini sandwiches for Nikolai's lunch.
I also like sending applesauce in his Laptop Lunches container since it comes with individual lids and they are leak-proof.
