Chick Bento

I have been super busy, back to back this whole week. I am guessing that some people have received their tax refund.

• Left- Chick from egg shaped sandwich. Chick is made of Colby cheese with provolone eye and food safe marker pupil. Speckles on egg is made of ham. Wheat crisp.
• Top right- Rose cut from strawberry, seedless green grapes.
• Bottom right- Choc egg, bunny shape cut into cucumber slices.

Happy Easter Bento Lunch #260: Bunny Bento & Exciting News

This is very easy to make. Used a heart shaped cookie cutter for the face and ears. You could also use a small heart shape cutter for the teeth but I decided to cut-out couple of bunny teeth this time:)

• Bunny face sandwich with Colby ears, icing eyes, olive nose, carrot whiskers, provolone teeth.
• Seedless green grapes.
• Edible grass and m&m's egg shaped chocs.

Bento Lunch #259: Ice-Cream Bento

I scream for ice cream! I'm planning to indulge in ice cream for lunch today, Haagen-Dazs my personal favorite :) Here is the healthier version for N.

Bento Lunch #258: Shapes Bento

Happy Monday! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. We went to South Beach Miami during the weekend and it was crowded with people, traffic jam and the weather was hot. One of the places we showed N was Gianni Versace's house and shared the history of it as well as Versace's murder which took place on the steps of that same mansion.

Back to bento-ing, I went with what I had in the fridge and came up with this variety of foods. Ahhh, I dread going grocery shopping today. We might have to call for take out this evening, just too tired to do much of anything.

Spring is my favorite season of the year! During our last vacation, one of the restaurants had these gorgeous strawberries that were cut out to look like roses. Bento Lunch #254: Party Hats

Today, the school will be having a water party for kids who have achieved their AR (Accelerated Reader) goal. It will be with water slides and more. I am in a party mood myself too:) Tomorrow onwards there will be no school and classes will resume on March 19. Spring Break!

Bento Lunch #251 : Moon, Stars and Mars Bento

We went to the beach during the weekend, had a lot of fun and looking forward for our next trip. Spring break is around the corner and the beach is already crowded with people. I am on vacation mode since the weekend and can't wait for the holidays! The boys (my hubby and N) talked about planets and this bento was inspired by their conversation. Happy Birthday Dr.Seuss Bento Lunch- Yertle the Turtle, Bento #250

Today would be the 108th Birthday of Dr.Seuss. His philosophical children's book, Yertle the Turtle, inspired this lunch.  Unable to find a ready made turtle cutter, I made my own with my hubby's help from what was once a bell shape (used pliers to reshape).

• Organic baby spinach as lily pad, ants on the log( celery stick,organic peanut butter,organic raisins)
• Turtle shaped sandwiches, pepperoni as rocks
• Checkerboard pattern grapes and cantaloupe. Below is pix of the cutter.
