Bento Lunch: Thanksgiving Thankful Bento and Blog Hop

Thanksgiving will always be a very special holiday for our family. What makes it 'Extra Special' is that one Thanksgiving day, 8 years ago, we welcomed our precious son into the world! His birthday will always fall on or near Thanksgiving, so I am going to make him a cake bento for school since this year his birthday will be on a Sunday.

Bento Lunch: Simple Puzzle Bento

I have made several puzzle bentos before and since I have pumpernickel bread on hand, this is a different version using the same cutter. These are couple of my previous puzzle lunches, here and here.
I used the Mini-dippers as a small jello mold which worked out well and convenient for easy grab and go or in my case oversleep, lol :)

Bento Lunch: Winnie The Pooh Mini Sandwiches bento

Thanksgiving is less than two weeks from now, how time flies! We made a thankful tree earlier in November and each day N writes on a piece of construction paper cut to leaf shape about what he is thankful for and drops it around the tree. It's so much fun reading what he is thankful for and I intend to keep those thankful notes in his keepsake box :) On the other hand, I have been real busy with my Santa's workshop toy store since Christmas is around the corner and it is also season time here in FL.
I love these cute cutters that I purchased from ebay awhile back.

Bento Lunch: Fall Bento with Couscous and Shu Mai

It just doesn't feel like fall here in FL but it has been a little bit cooler today and this is my first fall bento. The chicken shu mai is from Trader Joe's and they just required heating, I usually steam them in my mini microwave steamer but you can also heat them in a microwave safe dish, super easy. It took me 7 minutes to cook the couscous on the stove and N loves couscous a lot lately.

In this bento:
  • Top tier contains seedless black grapes, chicken shu mai and leaf shaped cucumber slices.
  • Bottom tier contains couscous with carrot lettering and leaf shaped colby jack cheese.
Packed in a double tier lunch box that I purchased from Crocs shoe store couple of years ago.

  • Cheddar cheese slices, cut and stamp with a car cutter.
