5 Homemade Lunchables and DIY Pizza Lunchables

In this post I will continue to share some lunches which Nikolai had enjoyed last school year and didn't get posted then. There are so many brands and varieties of lunchables these days in stores, their popularity can hardly be questioned. I may have mentioned that we have NEVER bought or tried the store brands ones. It is not that I have anything against those sold in stores, but I just can't justify the price for the small amount of food that you'll get. Packing our own is easy, much less expensive, and we can include the foods that we prefer, and choices are always great. I love packing these lunchable style lunches as it's nice to have a little bit of everything. You can find more lunchables ideas in my previous posts here.

The DIY Pizzables shown here is the first time I packed this for Nikolai and he loved the concept.

Bento lunch 1: DIY Pizza lunchables. Main compartment contains whole wheat sandwich thins (you can also use pita if you prefer), nitrate free pepperoni, organic marinara sauce in a leak-proof mini dipper, a spoon and a baran. Top left are shredded mozzarella cheese and top right are organic granola bar cut into half and seedless grapes.

Bento lunch 2: DIY Homemade Lunchables. Main compartment contains whole wheat crackers, round shaped cheddar cheese which I used my small round shaped cookie cutter for the cut out, organic popcorn and nitrate free salami in a square silicone cup. Sides were organic celery sticks, dip in small container and organic apple slices.

Bento lunch 3: Main compartment contains slices of cheddar cheese, nitrate free ham roll ups with a music note food pick and whole wheat crackers. Sides were cucumber slices and watermelon chunks with a smaller music note pick.

Bento lunch 4: DIY Homemade lunchables, Mickey Mouse themed. I used my Mickey Mouse fondant cutter for the provolone and cheddar cheese slices on top of some crackers, nitrate free salami, Pirate's booty and seedless grapes. I also included a yogurt cup which is not pictured.This was the day when we were low on groceries.

Bento lunch 5: DIY homemade lunchables with nitrate fee honey ham roll ups, cheese stick slices, cheese bread from the store which was so yummy and organic baby carrots in the main compartment. Seedless green grapes and organic apple slices on the top.

All of these easy lunches were packed in our Easylunchboxes container. Easy peasy right?

5 Lunches Packed In 10 Minutes Or Less

The end of the school year for us is approaching soon, well, not that soon, but time seems to be flying by way too fast lately. I think I've lost my bento making mojo along the way and all I've been packing are quick and easy lunches. I've a bunch of cute lunches which I've made and I'm planning to share those some other time or maybe next school year.

I want to share with y'all what I've been packing recently. Some are the lunches shown below and some are leftovers from dinner which are not pictured here. Packed lunches don't need to be perfect, and as long as Nikolai is healthy and happy, that's all that matters! All of these lunches were packed in our Easylunchboxes container.

In this bento lunch: Main compartment contains roll-ups in a large silicone cup and organic apple slices. Top left is an organic granola bar cut into half and top right are orange slices.

In this bento lunch: We had dinner at Bob Evans restaurant the other day and purchased their cherry bread which was delicious! Included a couple of slices in the main compartment with a baran sheet, alongside are nitrate free salami slices in a silicone cup and a Babybel cheese. Top left are some organic baby carrots with a cherry baran sheet, and top right are some strawberries.

In this bento lunch: Main compartment contains an English muffin with eyeglasses pick and half of a raisin for mouth, alongside is a cereal bar. Top left are organic baby carrots and ranch for dip in the small container, and top right are seedless green grapes in a silicone cup.

In this breakfast for lunch: Main compartment contains mini pancakes and sausages from our freezer stash. Top left is a cereal bar cut into half, Annie's organic crackers and pure maple syrup in our leak proof mini-dipper. This lunch was sent warm in our Warm & Tote bag. He also had some fruits on the side which is not pictured.

In this bento lunch: Main compartment contains a sandwich which I used a small butterfly cutter for the cut out and a string cheese on the bottom. Top left are watermelon cubes and top right and seedless organic grapes with a cute leaf pick.

Pancake Muffins and Pancake sausages, Breakfast For Lunch

As I've mentioned in my previous post about the breakfast which Nikolai made for me on Mother's day, one of the foods was chocolate chips pancake muffins. He followed my favorite recipe which can be found here. This recipe has made it to my personal recipe book. You see, I have this book in which I only write down the recipes which I've tried a gazillion times and which my family loves. The muffins which Nikolai made tasted fantastic, the only thing was, the chocolate chips sank to the center, but the flavor was there. I told him that "Practice Makes Perfect" and maybe he should bake more often.

He saved a couple for his lunchbox to have at school on Monday. I though I'd better post this first instead of my other back logged lunches. The main compartment contains the pancake muffins, Yoplait Gogurt and some sausages which I cooked and let cool in the morning before packing them into his Easylunchboxes container. His sides were watermelon cubes and Annie's homegrown organic granola bar cut into half. The picks which added instant cuteness to this simple lunch can also be used as forks, which I really like. :)

Here is another breakfast for lunch which he enjoyed a month or so ago. It was sausages covered in pancake, seedless red grapes, applesauce in a leak-proof mini dipper, Annie's organic cheddar bunnies and seedless green grapes. This lunch was packed in an Easylunchboxes urban container.

3 Easy Breakfast For Lunch

These breakfast for lunch were packed during the days that Nikolai had half days at school, I believe around a month ago. He loves Morning Star Farms veggie burgers and requested that I include them is his lunch.

The first breakfast for lunch are mini pancakes. I separated the pancakes and the veggie burger with a baran sheet and included a giraffe fork/pick. On the top section are organic granola bar and dried fruit in a cute bear cup. Pure maple syrup in our leak proof mini-dipper. Apple slices in the bottom section of the Goodbyn bynto.

The next breakfast for lunch are french toast sticks with a cute Mickey pick in a large silicone cup, Halo mandarin orange and purse maple syrup in a leak proof mini dipper. Sides are organic granola bar cut into half and apple slices. This lunch was packed in his Easylunchboxes container.

The last breakfast for lunch is a Belgian waffle from Trader Joe's which I toasted in our small toaster oven in the morning. I heated the veggie burger in the microwave and cut it into stripes and added a cute Donald Duck pick on his waffle. His sides were organic Greek blueberry yogurt and orange slices. He had pure maple syrup in the center of the Yumbox for his waffle. I love our leakproof Yumbox for sending yogurt and dips!

Pancake Blueberry Muffins, Breakfast For Lunch {with recipe}

I have a couple of sheep themed lunches to post, but I just found out that today is pancake day and I decided to post this pancake bento first. We love muffins at anytime of the day and we are also huge fans of breakfast for lunch. I love the idea of baking several batches at a time and freezing the extras for super busy mornings, when we need a grab and go.These particular ones were baked yesterday and I've left some out for the next morning, the rest went into the freezer. As I have promised earlier to share the recipe, scroll down and you'll find it.

This recipe is one of our longtime family favorites. There are so simple to make, you get the ease of a muffin with the deliciousness of a pancake. There are gazillions of yummy pancake recipes out there but this one works for me, it's simple and I mostly have the ingredients on hand.

I usually add frozen organic blueberries, strawberries and chocolate chips. You can also use bacon, ham and sausage pieces if you prefer adding meat.

Here is the recipe which I added blueberries.

Ingredients:

• 2 cups Original Bisquick mix or any other brand that you prefer.
• 1 egg
• 1 cup milk
• 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
• Blueberries
• Pam non-stick cooking spray or muffin cups.

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º.
2. In medium bowl, stir together pancake mix and remaining ingredients (except blueberries) until moistened. Do not over-mix.
3. Spoon batter into greased or paper lined muffin pan, filling ¾ full. Add blueberries in each cup leaving space in between them.
4. There is enough batter to fill one dozen muffin wells.
5. Bake at 350º for 13-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

Easy right? I included a couple of them with super cute Mickey and Minnie picks, in Nikolai's Easylunchboxes. He also had strawberries, seedless black grapes, granola bar cut into half and Greek yogurt with pure maple syrup in his leakproof mini-dipper.

Roll-ups/ Pinwheels lunches in Easylunchboxes

Happy Monday, and I hope you had a great weekend. It's raining and gloomy this morning, but I am thankful for the nice weather during the weekend. Today I would like to share with you how some of the lunches I made did not turn out looking how I wanted them to be. But hey, I've learned that as long as it is not school lunch, Nikolai doesn't mind at all. I don't always make cute lunches and many days the lunches that I packed did not make it to this blog, they may have been leftovers from dinner or some simple ones like these.

Nikolai loves Asiago cheese and turtles, but I was in a hurry and decided to make roll-ups with a turtle cup and cupcake pick but these roll-ups did not turn out quite right. The cheese was too thick and was a challenge to roll. On the bright side, he came home with an almost empty lunch box except a few baby carrots.

These simple lunches were packed in our Easylunchboxes container.

In this bento lunch:

• Main compartment: Roll-ups sandwiches and seedless red grapes in a turtle shaped silicone cup. (I always flatten the bread slightly with a rolling pin whenever I make roll-ups sandwiches).
• Top right: Goldfish crackers.
• Bottom right: Organic baby carrots with a turtle cupcake pick

Here is another roll-ups lunch which took me less than 10 minutes to pack.

• Main compartment: Roll-ups sandwiches, organic kiwi and strawberry slices in a silicone cup. Chocolate covered sunflower seeds in the mini-dipper.
• Top right: Organic baby carrots.
• Bottom right: Popcorn with a cupcake ring.

Pancakes breakfast for lunch And Tortilla roll-ups bento in Easylunchboxes

Happy Monday, I hope y'all had a great weekend! Back to basics after posting some Halloween themed lunches, and I have to clear up my back log lunches which were packed a month or so ago. The first lunch is a Panda themed breakfast for lunch, it was very easy as all I needed to do was add some Panda shaped picks, baran and a Panda shaped side container. The organic maple syrup was packed in our leakproof mini dipper and the entire breakfast was packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

In this breakfast for lunch:

• Mini pancakes with Panda picks, organic maple syrup in mini dipper, sunflower seeds in Panda shaped container and organic baby carrots.
• Morning Star Farms veggie burger slices topped with a baran sheet.
• Organic peach pieces in a silicone cup.

This next bento was packed in a hurry. It was tortilla roll-ups, and to make it a little cute I included a Mickey container and pick. This lunch was also packed in an Easylunchboxes container.

In this bento lunch:

• Strawberry and cream cheese tortilla roll-ups, organic kiwi slices, whole wheat crackers and a spoon for the apple sauce.
• Organic baby carrots and hummus in the Mickey container.
• Organic apple sauce in mini dipper.

Spider Halloween Bento

I made this lunch sometime last week and Nikolai told me that the spider on his apple sauce freaked him out, lol. This spider is so easy to make, I used a circle cookie cutter, some pretzels sticks for the legs and a couple of icing eyes to complete the face. The other spider on the organic apple sauce is half of a black grape with the other half sliced into thin wedges to make the legs. I love our leak proof Easylunchboxes mini dipper whenever I need to send applesauce or yogurt, they can be used with other lunchboxes as well or on it's own. This spider themed lunch was packed in his Easylunchboxes container.
